The Importance of Posting Regularly
Wow, I can believe I haven’t posted in over two months. I have been super busy, and honestly, I haven’t had the gumption of writing anything. The good news is I am off on vacation to FL this week. So perhaps I will have a little more time and a lot more to write about. So until next time, have a memorable summer!

Fight Cancer Now By Supporting Compute Against Cancer
In this current economic recession, non-profit organizations are having a harder time raising money through cash donations. But what if you could donate to fight cancer without spending a dime? I fight cancer every day by donating my unused computer resources to www.computeagainstcancer.org.
The Compute Against Cancer® program (CAC) is designed to create immediate impact in the lives of cancer patients and their families today, while at the same time empowering the research that will result in improved therapies — and perhaps even the cure — for cancer in the future.
Donate Computing Resources
The power of Compute Against Cancer is really the people who donate computer resources. And this power is harnessed by the Frontier Grid Platform by Parabon.
Frontier is a software solution that enables you to harness computational capacity on both dedicated and “idle” resources to run extreme-scale data-heavy, compute-intensive, and distributed command and control applications.
In layman’s terms, it is an unobtrusive program that you install on your computer. This program runs in the background and donates unused computational resources to Compute Against Cancer. Its user interface allows complete control over how to donate computing resources. For example, the most basic control is to either allow the program to run all the time, or only when the computer is idle for X amount of minutes.
Other more advanced sections allow for the control of disk space and RAM allocation. Simply tell the software how much disk space is allowed to be sectioned off for swap file use and how much RAM will be dedicated to running tasks. Additionally, the most customizable control function is the tunable profile. This profile section allows the owner/administrator the ability to control how much computer processor to donate during certain days and times. Donate more during hours that the computer is not used, and less during hours where the computer is heavily used.
Every Bit Helps
Weather you are a laptop warrior, an at home gaming enthusiast, a computer administrator, or simply use your computer to check email or visit with friends and family on Facebook, you can donate to Compute Against Cancer. Best of all, the software will run on Linux, MAC, or Windows. Donate now knowing your computing resources may help save a friend, a brother, or someones mother.
